Politico and Marty Markowitz - Wingate & Asser Levy
Marty is a cool guy (by George Jessel standards). And I like that he's an advocate for the arts when it so sorely needs funding by the City. But does it take 1 and 1/2 hrs of politicing before the artists are allowed to play. Must the audience, be held hostage to the likings of the boro hall cronies. Sure, I don't mind the businesses taking front and center (e.g Applebee in Bed Stuy - and no - John McCain does not blow on his soup there). But on and on with this comptroller yaking (what's the difference with the word controller). It took 3 weeks of shows before Melinda Katz of Forest Hills was given stage at Asser Levy (seems like Marty love Weprin and Yassky (or Yakkey) - and I ran into Weiner backstage at the Hall & Oates show looking very dressed down in Tee shirt.
